As part of TravelSupermarket’s Capture the Colour contest bloggers have been invited to show off their best photos highlighting a particular colour.

Never ones to miss a competition like this where there is an iPad and £2000 up for grabs we’ve delved through our photo collection to find our favourites which I hope you’ll enjoy to.

Waiting for a bus in Gubbio Waiting for a bus in Gubbio

Whilst we were waiting for our transport back to our hotel in Gubbio we were enthralled by the three elderly Italians waiting for a bus.

People tell a story of a country and none more so that the wiser generation. Though I don’t understand a word of Italian I can just imagine these three mulling over the problems of the world. Either that or who’s getting

Green

Matteo shows off the find Matteo shows off the find

Everything about this picture screams green. From the leaves of the trees down to the grass and the jacket of our truffle hunter Matteo.

It seems fitting that this is the case as Matteo was a man of the woods that surround his farm and took extreme pride in spending the morning taking us out in search for the mysterious truffle.

Though it rained during our hunt, truffle hunting in Umbria was one of the highlights of our trip.

The wall art in Gubbio

We’d just finished a morning making pots and painting plates when we left the gallery and we heading back through the streets.

All around Gubbio, shopkeepers display their goods on the walls outside their front door and these really stood out for us against the grey of the city walls.

Gubbio is one of those crazy little towns you just have to visit when you’re in Umbria.

Watching the festival in Narni Watching the festival in Narni

We were engrossed in the annual festival in Narni, being entertained by trumpeters, drummers and dancers when we heard voices from above.

Turning to look in the general direction of the chatter we looked up to see three Italian children getting a great vantage point to watch the festivities.

Though it’s difficult to tell if they’re enjoying the show or not!

Red

Fiat on the street Fiat on the street

What you really need when you need to drive through the narrow streets of Gubbio is a little car and this Fiat is perfect.

The striking colour caught our eye and we had to grab a picture. For all the big BMW’s, Audi’s and Range Rovers in the world the must be nothing like driving through Italy in one of these little Fiats.

And so to nominating 5 other bloggers to participate in the competition:

Hey Paul! Thanks for the nomination. Very kind of you. I love your truffle hunter shot – especially with the spotted dog standing out against the green. And I love the little red Fiat. Can’t we all just drive around in those? : )
